A couple of weeks ago I was asked to take part in Vita Coco's #cococreations competition which involves making a smoothie with their coconut water for the chance to win a Nutribullet. I mentioned in my Christmas Gift Guide how desperate I am for a new blender so a new smoothie maker would definitely come in handy!
A smoothie at this time of year is probably not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about what to have for breakfast but I have found not adding extra ice means the smoothie is not too cold and after a sweaty workout its the perfect refuel especially when adding in coconut water.
To make my smoothie a little more winter inspired I added in my chai spice mix, purely because I am loving all things chai right now. It adds a Christmasy twist to the mix and worked perfectly with the other ingredients making this a wonderful tasting drink that I will be making again and again!
Chai, Cashew & Banana Smoothie
330ml Vita Coco
2 Medium Frozen Bananas
1 Heaped Desert Spoon Cashew Butter
1 tsp Chai Spice
1 tsp Maca Powder
Optional - Cinnamon to Dust
Take bananas out of freezer 20 minutes before using just so they soften a little.
Add all ingredients to your blender and whizz up on high until all ingredients are completely blended.
Pour into a glass and dust with a little cinnamon.
This smoothie is gluten free and vegan so should be safe for most of you, as long as you like the other ingredients! Its thick and creamy, very filling, healthy and super tasty....what more could you want from a smoothie I ask?!
