Last month ran away with me and I was not as organised as I hoped so I am doing my October reviews now, better late then never right?! I always say yes to products I think you will be interested in, all the words are my own and I will give you my honest opinion on everything I was sent. Sit back grab a cuppa and you never know you might see something you like.....
Legacy are a new sports brand out on the market and they offer some really nice clothing for us girlies. You all know I am a sucker for sports wear being a personal trainer I guess its in my nature, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on these some new items and try them out! I was given a budget to choose a couple of things and here is what I chose....
This mint green vest caught my eye, I love colourful sports wear and this I thought was super cute. The vest fits nicely and is light weight, great if like me you get really hot and sweaty during a workout, the only negative I can give this vest is I would prefer it a little longer. I do like my vests to come down to the top of thighs so if this was a little longer it would have been perfect.
I also chose some full length leggings, you can never have enough sports leggings if you ask me! I haven't got a bad word to say about these I absolutely love them, they fit like a dream are nice and thick and the panel across the waist is great if your feeling a little bloated, it holds ya tummy in score! I would definitely buy more of these leggings, especially as they have some really fun colours and I do love a coloured legging.
I really like this new brand and will definitely be looking at what they have to offer when I need some new items if you would like to keep up to date with Legacy then check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
Any sort of new gluten free snack available on the market is always welcome round here, being gluten free can sometimes limit your choices but there are so many more products on offer which is good to see. Veronicas Snacks offer a range of gluten free potato, vegetable and corn crisps in all sorts of flavours, they are also baked instead of fried to lower the fat content.
I was sent three bags which included veggie and potato crisps. I found the texture of these crisps quite peculiar and can't really describe what its like other then if you have tried the Aldi gluten free crisps because they are exactly the same as these. The flavours were really good but I found them quite dry although Dale loved them and was more then happy to eat the lot! I would say these are definitely worth a try if your gluten intolerant and would like to try something new, I think they would be great with some hummus.
While out and about in petrol stations or supermarkets I have noticed that some cordial drink brands have bought out little bottles of cordial for you to keep in your bag so you can always have your favourite flavoured drink wherever you are as long as you have a bottle of water. Well I would take the plain water every time as I don't drink cordial but when Stur contacted me about their new stir in liquid water enhancers I was intrigued and heres why.....
Stur's has no calories artificial sweeteners, sugar or fat and is sweetened with stevia. They come in a range of flavours and are small enough to pop in your bag if you do tend to prefer a flavour to your water.
I have still not tried all the flavours but the ones I have are quite nice, as much as I love water sometimes its nice to have a little flavour which is when I reach for a herbal tea so this has been a nice alternative. One thing I thought these would be great for is my vodka and soda, I hardly ever drink but when I do vodka and soda with fresh lime is my drink of choice but I think these might work quite well to mix things up, I'll let you know if I try it!
Natures Path were kind enough to send me some of their new Hot and Steamy Porridge Oats perfect for the cooler weather. I usually buy a big bag of oats and flavour them myself when making breakfast but these sachets have two flavour options as well as plain there is maple and spiced apple, yum!! I have tried both flavours and they get a thumbs up from me plus these are perfect if you take breakfast to work with you. My only complaint is the portions are quite small but then again I like a BIG bowl of oats and these are probably a much better portion size!
Instead of just showing you a bowl of porridge I thought I would share another option for these sachets, Pancakes!! I made some with the maple option and they turned out mighty fine, heres the recipe if you would like to try them for yourself:
Maple, Banana and Peanut Butter Pancakes
1 sachet maple oats
2 Tbsp coconut flour
1 Tbsp almond milk
1 Tbsp peanut butter
coconut oil for frying
In a bowl mix all ingredients other then coconut oil and peanut butter.
Heat a non stick pan over a medium heat and add a little coconut oil, add dollops of your pancake batter to the pan and leave for a minute or so to brown. The pancake will stiffen and start to show little holes in the mixture once its ready to turn. Flip and cook the other side for a further 40-60 seconds.
Once all your pancakes have been made plate up and top with peanut butter and if your feeling extra daring some maple syrup too!
Right guys thats all my reviews done, I hope you have seen something you might like to try for yourself? The next review/product post will be about Christmas gifts so keep a look out for that there are some pretty good ideas!
Have you tried any of the above, what did you think?
