My Favourite Spots in Hastings and St.Leonards - Day Twenty Three

Hello peeps, how are we?
I'm all good and getting back to my usual routine quite nicely. I had a good arm workout followed by a long walk yesterday and another long walk this morning so I am feeling a little less restless after not doing much last week. Although I will be the first to admit my back needed some time to rest up and heal which means its feeling on the mend now and hopefully will go from strength to strength!

Right on to todays Blog-tember challenge, we have been asked to give a guide to the city/town in which we live so here are my favourite spots in Hastings and St.Leonards.......

Hastings and St.Leonards Seafront

If you follow my Instagram account you will have seen lots of seafront pictures over the summer months due to the amount of walking I have been doing. Hastings and St.Leonards have lovely beaches yes they are pebbled but I don't mind that. If the sun is out the beaches are packed but an early morning walk along the seafront is quiet and really beautiful. We unfortunately lost our pier a few years ago to a fire but it is now being re-built and should be finished next year and I cannot wait for it to be done, the plans look amazing! You can read about it here.

Hastings Best Health Food Shop - Trinity Wholefoods

source

You all know by now how much I love food and how I like to buy health foods so for me Trinity Wholefoods is the place to go if your in Hastings and wanting decent health and whole foods. The shop isn't massive but they pack a lot in and there is lots of variety to cater for everyone especially if you are veggie, vegan or gluten and dairy intolerant. I wouldn't say the products are particularly cheap but they are cheaper then any other healthy style shop in Hastings or St.Leonards and the staff are really helpful and know what their talking about. I probably go once to twice a week and now the tattoo shop has moved just round the corner I shall probably be in there more frequently!

Madam Butterfly's Tattoo Parlour

Of course I couldn't do this post without mentioning one of the places I work and get lots of my tattoos done, I have a few by the way to those of you that didn't know! If your in Hastings and fancy having a tattoo done this is the place to go, yes I may be bias because I work there but the work is the best in the town if you ask me and guys that work there are lovely and very helpful! You can check out their work on Facebook....and maybe I'll see you there sometime : )

Hastings Old Town

Probably the prettiest place to stay/visit in Hastings is the old town, filled with cafes, junk shops, little boutiques, antique stores, old pubs and cool bars it has real character and is a must see for anyone going to Hastings. Its usually heaving in the summer and has some fun events like May Day and Pirate Day to name a couple. I love the old town, we quite often go there on a Sunday to grab a coffee in a cute cafe then have a dig through the junk shops to see what treasures we can find.

Little Larder - St.Leonards

For the past year and a half I have lived in St.Leonards which neighbours Hastings. We live in a lovely road in a lovely flat which I am happy to call my home. St.Leonards gets a bad rap from lots of people but it really has lots going for it these days and is an up and coming area I love to be a part of, there are lots of cute little cafes and shops to eat in and look around and it has real character. One of my favourite places to go for coffee and maybe a bite to eat in the day is Little Larder in Normans Road. They make great coffee and always have gluten free options for lunch and cake which suits me down to the ground, its very small with only a few tables but if the sun is shining they also have a small court yard which is nice to sit in and chat with friends. There are lots of other places to go too but this one in particular is a favourite of mine.

I sometimes forget how much I love the town I live in which is easy in the winter months as its grey and dingy and not there isn't much going on but then the spring and summer comes and I remember I love Hastings and St.Leonards and feel lucky to live in such a pretty little seaside town : )

  1. It looks like such a pretty town.
The best thing about living in Manchester is the nightlife. It was such a great place to be a student that I never left.

  2. I will be so glad when the pier is rebuilt.
I was so gutted when the fire happened :(

I have memories of when I was little, being on some water ride thing they had on there, and somehow getting stuck in the corner of it...

    2. Ahhh really? I used to love going on there, even though you wouldn't catch me going near the railings as my legs turn to jelly!
