Weekend Eats and Moves

Hello, well what a fabulous weekend, I have throughly enjoyed the past two days and the week has started in a lovely way too! All in all life is pretty good right now I am happy to report : )

Rewind to Saturday I got up early to get my daily power walk in before my first client arrived.

Once I was home and freshened up I warmed a slice of my home-made lemon and courgette loaf and spread a little coconut oil on top....OMG so good!

Client trained I hit the road and walked to town for my day in the shop.

For lunch I really fancied strawberries so I ate a small pun net topped with greek yogurt, delicious! I got a little peckish later on in the afternoon and had some rice cakes topped with hummus and cucumber too.

Dale was away fishing for the weekend so I came home rented a chick flick and had one of my favourite throw together meals, mackerel and veggies with a little pesto. There was also an un-pictured almond ice cream that went down the hatch!

Sunday morning after waking early but naturally I decided to go for a longer walk as Dale wasn't due back till lunch time I thought why not? I walked for an hour and a half, the sun was glorious and it was beautiful along the coast, the sea was right out and I had the urge to go in but resisted as I had a swimming date a little later on.....

After my walk I came home and had some gluten free toast topped with hummus and cucumber, such a good combo! I have to add here if you eat gluten free and are looking for a good bread alternative I really rate the Asda one, it is white and I only eat it toasted but it really does taste like bread and its only £1.50, some of the brands taste really sweet but this doesn't plus it doesn't give my gut ache so a big thumbs up!

When Dale got home we went and did our weekly shop then went swimming! Dale has wanted to go for ages so we finely had time and I have to say I loved it. I used to swimming a lot a few years back but got out of the habit when I moved to Brighton so it was nice to get back in the pool but my god it was tough! We did 16 lengths, 8 back stroke and 8 front crawl and that was enough for the first time back, we have decided to try and make it a weekly thing which will be nice as its something we can do together : )

We visited Dale's mum and step dad in the afternoon then home to watch a film and eat dinner. I made a yummy dish of veggie rice salad and crispy bacon.

I had such a great day and after all that exercise my back was still feeling ok so I think its on the mend thank god! I have actually started seeing a new lady for my sports massage's and even though she has the hands of the devil she seems to be fixing me which means the pain is worth it!

Today I was up again to get my walk in before my first clients, can't get enough of these walks right now and I have to tell you my legs are starting to show a real difference which is rather nice!

I hope you all had a great weekend and your week starts on a high like mine.

Question:

Do you swim?

  1. I swam a lot whilst I was on holiday and it brought it home how much I had missed it. I'm not the strongest of swimmers but I get by ha! I'm loving walking too at the moment, especially in the lovely weather that we have been having recently.

    1. I can't wait to swim everyday on our holiday next month, like you I'm not the strongest swimmer but I can just about make it through without sinking!

  2. I am so rubbish at swimming. I get quite bored as well, especially if I'm in a swimming pool. Ben is an amazing swimmer and used to do it competitively at school. He'll be signing up for triathlons before I know it!
Glad to hear your back is getting better.

  4. Glad your back is on the mend chick. That sounds like a lovely weekend, I would really fancy going swimming, especially while preggers and I have managed it once but just don't seem to ever have the time to head to the pool!

    1. Thank you, I know what you mean you need a good two hour slot to go swimming without being rushed!

  5. Glad your back is getting better. I used to go swimming a bit, but I am not a strong swimmer and don't really enjoy it, although I don't mind a little splash about on holiday.
