June Reviews Featuring A Homemade Sugar Scrub And Gluten Free Bircher Muesli

Hello and happy Saturday readers! I can't believe how fast this week has gone and how we will be off to Glastonbury next Thursday!! I am so SO excited I cannot wait to go to one of my favourite places in the world and get lost in the Glastonbury bubble for four days fingers crossed the weather is kind to us.

Due to going away at the end of the month I have been trying to get up all my reviews posted which is why there has been a few throughout the month and a couple more to come! Today I wanted to tell you about 3 companies I have been sent products from some of which I have used in recipes together so I though it only right to do a June review post featuring them along side each other. I what to say a big thank you to everyone that sends me products to review I am well aware of how lucky I am and hope these honest reviews can give you some feedback on wether to buy these products, the following ones are definitely worth your money by the way! Right lets get to it......

Cocofina

First up today is this lovely lot from Cocofina a fabulous company that sells all things coconut just in case you didn't guess from the name! I was sent a bottle of coconut water, a jar of organic coconut oil and organic coconut flower nectar plus some snack bars.

The coconut water didn't last long after I had chilled it in the fridge thats for sure, I love coconut water and Cocofina's is delicious and very refreshing plus it doesn't have any added sugars which makes me happy. The coconut oil is always needed round my house as I use it for everything and this one was lovely especially in my homemade sugar scrub (recipe at the bottom).

I love love love the coconut flower nectar and used it in my Lemon Shell Cookies which turned out fabulously! Its nice to have an alternative to maple syrup and this works perfectly if you are needing a liquid syrup for your recipes and it really does taste like nectar Mmmmmmm! I could only try the coconut cocoa and the macaroon bars as they are both gluten free both gorgeous and great for keeping in your back when a snack attack hits I would happily eat both of these again. Dale had the coconut date bars and loved them I'm pretty sure I will be investing in some more for him at some point!

I can't fault these products at all, these are good quality and very tasty so if you like coconut you need these in your life! You can follow Cocofina on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with all the coconut news!

Detox Your World

Detox Your World is a fabulous online store offering lots of great healthy products and many super foods for health conscious folk. I have reviewed some products from them before which you can read about here. I love this site and all the goodies they offer, there is definitely something for everyone so if you haven't checked them out yet I suggest you do quick smart!

This time round I was sent some yummy Goji Berries and Chia Seeds to create something with and I found a fab recipe on Pinterest for a gluten free Bircher Muesli which sounded right up my street so I got creating my own version of this fab breakfast delight....

Gluten Free Bircher Muesli

Ingredients:

1Tbsp Ground Linseeds
2tsp Chia Seeds
1Tbsp Mixed Seeds/Nuts
(pumpkin, sunflower, pine nuts, flaked almonds)
1Tbsp Goji Berries
60ml Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 Apple
Yogurt - for serving

Method:

Add all the ingredients apart from the apple and yogurt to a bowl and stir.

Leave in the fridge overnight or for at least one hour to soak.

Grate the apple and stir through then top with yogurt.

Eat!

This was real tasty and a delicious way to start the day. A great option if you want a muesli style breakfast but are looking for something gluten free. The chia seeds thicken the mix and the goji berries become pump and soft : )

Simply Supplements

Simply Supplements is a great online store to buy all sorts of supplements, from vitamins to fish oils and much more. I was asked to choose some items to review from the site and as I believe its quite hard to review supplements because it takes your body time to get the benefits and its hard to actually tell what they are doing I decided to go with products I already use that I know my body benefits from as well as some items I could make a new recipe with.

The first things I chose were ImmunoBoost with Black Garlic and Super ProBio Complex. The ImmunoBoost has vitamin c, black garlic and zinc which are all great for the immune system and the skin which is why I like to take those extra to my diet and the Super ProBio Complex contains 9 different probiotic strains which are fabulous to keep my digestive system working in tip top condition. I have always taken this kind of supplement so it was nice to get the offer to try another brand.

The products I chose were Massage Oil, Tea Tree Oil and Lavender Oil and this is because I have been wanting to try out making my own body scrub for a while so this was the perfect opportunity to do that. The  massage oil contains almond, lavender, marjoram, and juniper berry which makes it smell wonderful and relaxing perfect for making my own body scrub....

I decided to make sugar scrub as I have an up and coming spray tan appointment which means I need nice dry free skin so I don't get any tan lines here is how I made my scrub.....

Ingredients:

1/2 cup coconom's turmeric and tamarind coconut sugar
1/4 cup cocofina coconut oil
1/4 simply supplement's massage oil
4 drops simply supplements lavender oil

Method:

Put all ingredients into a bowl and stir.

Pour into an air tight container.

Its that easy! The scrub is quite wet so if you prefer it to be harder you can keep it in the fridge.

This scrub is awesome, it smells wonderful and leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised without needing to put on an additional moisturiser which is perfect if your pushed for time. I would recommend washing down the bath after use to prevent anyone slipping as its made from an oil and could be dangerous if you leave the residue on the bath/shower bottom. Also this will only last 1-2 weeks out of the fridge but to be honest its going to last that long round here I have been using it everyday! I am going to make another batch once I have used this one with the tea tree oil which i think will be just as good : )

I loved the products was sent from Simply Supplements and would definitely use the site again, if you would like to check them out you can on Twitter and Facebook

A big thank you to everyone that has sent me these fab products its been a pleasure trying them out and creating some fab recipes!

Question:
