Big Fish On A Bank Holiday

Hello readers!
I hope you have all been enjoying the bank holiday and had time to enjoy the extra day off, I definitely have! I worked Saturday till 6pm then the fun began, me and Dale went to stay with his mum and stepdad for the night. We had a fab curry and a few drinks and chatted the night away which was lovely, we are trying to save all our money at the mo for Glastonbury so nights in out weigh nights out for us. We stayed for breakfast on Sunday and lazed about for a while before heading home to pack for our fishing trip!

Once we got the van packed it was time to hit the road into the sun with fingers ad toes crossed for a catch!

On the way to the lake Dale treated me to am ice cream which was delicious the flake was a fake though which did not make me happy especially as this cost £2.50!

When we arrived at the lake it was beautiful sunshine and after we set up camp I sat and relaxed while Dale cast his rods out, then the waiting began.....

Early evening we decided to get the BBQ going (amazing little BBQ we bought from Asda for £10, bargain!) and have a tasty dinner.

I had a piece of chicken with salad and coleslaw as well as an un-pictured piece of steak which was bloody lovely! Dale's stepdad is a butcher and the meat we get from him is always so good, we actually don't buy it anywhere else anymore because nothing beats it! So if you live in Hastings or the surrounding area check out P.A Fisher and Son Butchers they're are fab.

After dinner had settled we sat up watching and waiting with a cuppa and some biscuits to dip, it was a perfect evening. There was no sign of any fish so we decided to go to bed around 11ish then low and behold the buzzer goes off unfortunately Dale lost that fish so we did go to bed.......

This beast was my 5.30am wake up call! 28lb of carp, she was bloody heavy and very slippery! Great start to the day and then about an hour later....

ha caught another one! Not as big at 23.8lb but still a decent size plus two catches made up for the lost one the night before! Once all the pictures had been taken and the rids were back out we had one thing on our minds coffee and porridge : )

I still had a couple of gluten free porridge pots left over from Perkier Foods which are perfect for taking with you camping.

Especially when topped with some Coconom coconut sugar, mmmmmm

We hung about today till 12ish but the rain started so we packed up and came home, a successful trip I would say. I love going with Dale now again its such fun and I love getting to have a picture with a big fish even if it is slimy!

I have now got to get dinner on so I shall bid you farewell, enjoy the rest of your bank holiday Monday folks x x

Question:

  5. Those fish are huge, great work! I've never been fishing, but I imagine it to be quite relaxing but exciting at the same time waiting for that big catch.

  6. That ice cream looks great but I'd have been the same for £2.50! Those fish are huge, what a lovely bank holiday weekend activity! We went to Ikea and then had a BBQ, so typical!
