Workout Wednesday + Pancakes 2 Ways

Hi all, hows it going? Did you all enjoy your pancakes yesterday? I know I did, both for my main and pudding! Well I haven't had pancakes for ages so I thought it was time to catch up : )

For the savoury pancakes I made vegetable socca's. I made the socca batter with gram flour and water about 1.5 cups of flour and the same of water. The veggies were mushrooms, a pepper, an onion, garlic and spinach cooked in coconut oil with ground coriander, chilli powder, salt and pepper. I cooked these earlier in the day and let them cool. Once the batter was whisked up I added the veggies then heated a pan with oil and added a ladle of mix to the pan. You can tell when the pancake is ready to turn because it bubbles on the up side. I made a yummy topping which was not vegan but could be!  I was given some Total Greek Yogurt vouchers to get some yogurt and make some recipes here's my first:

Coriander and Lemon Spicy Dip:

1 cup 0% total greek yogurt
1 large handful fresh coriander
zest of one lemon
1/4 tsp chilli powder
(or more depending on how hot you want it)
salt and pepper

Put all the ingredients into a mini blender and blend until smooth and coriander is all chopped up.

This was a great topping for our savoury pancakes, we actually had some left which will be topping our chicken later, yum!

For pudding I decided to make a crepe style pancake, these were Matcha Green Tea and Vanilla, but you will have to wait for the recipe to be featured on my Rice Dream page. I topped these pancakes with freshly squeezed lemon and Coconom's Original coconut sugar, delicious!

With all this pancake eating I think a workout is definitely in order and lucky for you its Workout Wednesday!! Plus I have added a new tab at the top of my page where you can find all the links to the workouts I have posted, handy right?! Right lets get moving........

Lower Body and Cardio

15 x DB squats
15 x DB lunges (each side)
1 min step ups
x 3

15 x hamstring curls on stability ball
15 x sumo squat
1 min squat jumps
x 3

15 x curtsy lunges (each side)
1 min bridge
1 min skip
x 3

15 x bulgarian split lunges (each side)
15 x DB calf raises
1 min wall sit

If you have access to a gym then use dumbbells but you can do this workout without them at home and still feel the burn, believe me!

As always let me know if you try this workout I would love to know how you get on.

Question:

Do you prefer full body or split routines when working out?

I love a bit of both, I find split routines are great if I really want to focus on certain muscle groups but nothing beats an all over body blast if you ask me!

  1. I hadn't had pancakes in ages either so I had a lot of catching up on pancake day also! That dip sounds great, would be amazing with some falafel I think :-)

  2. I was definitely into the pancake action yesterday and had them for dinner and dessert too, yum! I think it makes them a nice treat when you don't have them all of the time. :-)

  3. I tend to do split workouts. So I workout my legs, core or upper body. But only because it's easier to plan with hard or easy runs in between.
Love the socca pancakes. I still haven't tried them. Will need to get on it!
