Workout Wednesday

Hello and Happy Hump Day!
I hope everyone is having a good week so far? Mine has been pretty uneventful, all work and no play but as I mention all the time my work is great so no complaints here! I think this time of year needs to be quiet anyway just to get over the crazy festive season.

One way I am being helped to get over the festive indulgences is working out and here as promised is the next edition of my new Workout Wednesday feature!!If you missed last weeks you can check it out here. Today I am focusing on upper body/abs and cardio. Strength exercises to tone and Tabata intervals to get the heart pumping and burn calories, enjoy!

Round 1
DB Punch 30sec
Plank 30sec
x 3
Star Jumps 20s on 10s off x 8

Round 2
Press Ups 30sec
Bicycle Crunch 30sec
x 3
Squat Jumps 20s on 10s off x 8

Round 3
Back Extension 30sec
Scissors 30sec
x 3
Mountain Climbers 20s on 10s off x 8

Round 4
DB Cross Overs 30sec
High Plank 30sec
x3
Run On Spot 20s on 10s off x 8

Round 5
Arm Circles 30sec
Crunch 30sec
x3
Power Jacks 20s on 10s off x 8

Each round is 7 minutes long. The strength exercise's are performed back to back for 3 minutes immediately followed by the Tabata cardio. Take a 1-3 minute break between each round. This should take around 50 minutes with breaks throw in a warm up and cool down about 60 minutes.

I hope you get a chance to do this and if you do let me know how you go its a challenging one but fun if you like a good sweat fest!

Question:

Do you like to split your workouts up into muscle groups/upper/lower or do a full body attack each time?

I used to do full body all the time but these days I prefer a split either upper or lower or muscle groups : )

  2. I used to do all at once but now I like doing legs and upper body separately. I'm looking forward to getting back to a better weight for me because I'm thinking of getting some personal training to really build some muscle!
