A Little Gripe and a Sweet Treat

Dear oh dear I am sat here watching the weather and it looks like a pretty rough few days! I really hope we get a proper summer this year we definitely deserve it!

Luckily today hasn't been too bad, grey and dull but dry at least. I got up early to go to spin and get my sweat on. Grrrrrrr I have a little gripe actually........ and I don't just think its because I am a qualified spin teacher might I add. I have been going back to spin now for the past 2 months and since going back the routine has never changed?! Plus I go on a Tuesday and a Thursday (same Teacher) and literally every time its the same routine, I don't even have to watch now as I now her moves better than she does! I feel like I should ask "do you ever change the routine and music?" but I'm afraid I will come across kind of rude........I know if it was my class I would have at least 4-6 different routines to rotate for a 2 month period before changing them completely..............

Ok ok gripe over! After getting back from my class I had an amazing smoothie. Blueberry and tahini again but I added half and avocado to make it super smooth and creamy : )

In the mix: almond milk/water, vanilla sun warrior, tahini, honey, 1/2 avocado, spinach and blueberries.
AMAZING!

I worked at the warehouse today, lots of call making so a coffee was definitely needed. Mid morning I snacked on some oat cakes and had another coffee.

For lunch I had some homemade soup and a couple of boiled eggs

Then to feed a sweet need I had some sesame snaps. I love these and haven't had them for ages so it was a nice treat.

Being on the phone all day has been really tiring so I am looking forward to just chilling out tonight. I should be doing a load of computer stuff but my eyes feel like they're going square so it will have to wait till tomorrow and the weekend.

Question:

If you do classes do you like the teacher to mix it up and change the routine?

Maybe I'm being picky but if my mind is bored my body will be too and thats no good!

  1. Hi Tam
When I know a routine and know the teacher I love the class to be really complex with lots of changes and varied routines..... that was until a few months ago I went to a different class..it was hell I nearly killed myself looking like Eddie Eagle... on speed! well you know what I mean.. so I get where your coming from, maybe a hint or three after the class?

  2. I love trying new classes because I get bored really easily! So I love when a teacher changes things up!

  3. I think most classes I've ever gone to have been varied, except for maybe yoga, but I suppose we were learning new techniques, and we generally did at east part of a new sequence. I do like when you do have a few set workouts to do every now again just to gage how much fitness has improved!

    1. its funny I did Bikram for well over a year (need to get back!) and never minded doing the same routine but my fast paced sweaty cardio I like to be a challenge and its just to boring to be a challenge!

  4. One of the reasons i love the Les Mills stuff - because every 12 weeks it HAS to change, then for 6 weeks you work on particular moves before the instructors start mixing in older tracks and you get something different generally every class or at least each week.

  6. I like the fact that pump changes every few months- I like knowing what I am doing because it is good to know the weights etc, plus it feels like I am getting fitter if I can do the same track with heavier weights.
With aerobics the class format is the same- we do a sort of routine first, and again she does that for maybe 4 weeks- it needs to be repeated as they can be complicated. But then the main but is different each week I suppose- the same moves but in different orders and things.
