Green Tea and No Coffee

Hello!!!!!!!
What another fabulous day its been, I unfortunately had to work in the shop but seeing the sunshine outside was still nice and when I did get to have a quick walk, it was so warm!

This morning I was up nice and early to get food for the day ready before my 7am Bikram class. I made a yummy juice then ate my yoga fuel which was an apple, tahini and cinnamon.

I had a fab class today and feel my back getting stronger and really stretching out which is good. After class I walked to work and had breakfast there. Fresh juice and 2 apples. I also had a green tea in replacement of my usual coffee. I wanted to add, I am not giving up coffee because of the caffeine. I drink decaf anyway its more the amount of soy milk I am consuming with my giant milky coffees and teas. I feel the need for water and herb teas so that's what I am going with.

For lunch I had some of the cauliflower soup I made last night with rice cakes and later in the afternoon I had an apple topped with soy yogurt and a sprinkle of trail mix.

At work I usually snack all day through boredom but today I really controlled my urges so by the time I got home and showered I was real hungry! I made a delicious mix for dinner. Olive tofu, steamed cabbage and chard, kelp noodles (courtesy of vivapure, I won them, you can get some too and use this code: VPFRIEND7 to get a 7% discount!!) I made the dressing from vegan pesto and peanut flour mixed with water and a little salt. This was soooooo good!

Oh yes I made pudding but I made it supper healthy!
I put 3 tbsp of soy yogurt, frozen cherries, and rice milk in the blender and whizzed it up then topped with a little malt hazelnut crunch, perfect!

As you can see a fab day of eats if I do say so myself! I feel so much better just not drinking so much coffee today and eating so well. I have to admit I eat way to much, lots of snacks and forget what its like to actually feel really hungry I actually like that feeling because it makes your meals so much more satisfying! I hope I can keep this up!

I am looking forward to tomorrow I have 2 Bikram sessions to get through before heading off to Hastings in the afternoon to train my sister and her hubby. Then I get to see Dale!!!!! I haven't seen him for a week so I can't wait : )

I hope you've had a good start to your week x x x

Question:

Green tea lover or hater?

I have to admit I was never really one for green tea but I have been sent some to review (more on this later) and they couldn'a have come at a better time. I have tried a couple today and they were really nice. I found the trick for me is to leave the bag in for a few minutes then whip it out! Most herbal teas I just leave the bag in but green tea goes a little bitter to me. I shall keep trying a do my review soon : )

  1. Awesome eats for sure!!

I have recently decreased my coffee intake. When I drink it, especially on an empty stomach, I feel light headed and super shaky. It's weird because it never used to do that to me. So now I stick to all sorts of teas and I feel MUCH better all of the time! I really enjoy Chai Green tea.

  3. I've stopped drinking caffeine after noon now, but just can't seem to rid myself of my two morning coffee's! I do drink them black, so no milk to worry about, but i'm not sure green tea will have enough caffeine for me!?
Love reading your blog, by the way!

  4. Of course I'm a green tea lover! I think I may have been sent the same stuff as you to review. I like mine strong so leave the bag in while I drink it! I can totally see what you mean about the milky coffee thing, I feel sluggish and bloated when I drink too many soya coffees x

  6. I don't mind green tea- like you say it can get bitter very quickly, but I never choose to drink it. The green tea with lemon is quite nice, but I prefer peppermint, so would choose that instead usually.

  7. I think I was born with green tea in my blood system.. thanks to my Japanese mama. But yes, always take it out after a few minutes because it can get super bitter and nasty.

Oh by the way I meant to share this with you.. I made this raw apple "oatmeal" the other day and it was so delish (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCdO8-A2wns&list=UUeCzTq5s9J9E0cMlhpF5nEg&index=40&feature=plcp).

  10. I found a decaf candy cane green tea from Trader Joes that I'm really into, but besides that I've always found green tea to be a little bleh. It's too bad because of all of the health benefits!
