7 Day Coffee Detox

Hey peeps, another weekend over......sigh.....
Then again I had to work both days so it all kind of rolls into one for me. I have been working everyday lately and can't wait to have a day off! Just 5 days to wait then I have a whole weekend off yay! Before I wish my week away completely lets talk food.........

Before my 9am Bikram class I got up to get my food for the working day sorted and make a juice to power me through my asanas : )

When I got to the shop after yoga I had some left over juice and rice cakes with peanut butter. Which was the end of the jar......it took all of 11 days to finish that jar opps! No more for me this month!

I also had a giant coffee or two or 3 even! I soaked it up and have decided I am on a coffee detox, no coffee or any other drink that needs milk for the rest of the week I need to flush my system me thinks feeling a little groggy at the mo.

For lunch I had some left over quinoa mixed with vegan pesto and steamed red cabbage and chard. I really love chard its sooooooo yum! I also had some soy yogurt after.

When I got home I got straight on with making dinner. Curried cauliflower soup with rice cakes on the side for dipping. The soup was so thick and creamy just the way I like it!

Then I made this!

OMG this was amazing!
Banana soft serve topped with hazelnut malt crunch and coconut!!!!!

As you can see I have definitely been enjoying my food of late which is why I need to reign it in a little. I am feeling bloated and and as I said a bit groggy so I am going to have a week of really consciously thinking about my food choices. No coffee and no crazy snacking is on the agenda!

Anyway lets change the subject, thanks to all of you that have already signed up for the cookie exchange, I'm already excited! I will wait until Friday which will be the cut off day and then you will all need to email me so I have your addresses and then I will pair everyone up and post rules!

Question:

Could you give coffee up for a week?

I gave it up for January which was tough, I was drinking a fake coffee and decaf tea though so this will be a little more challenging!

  1. Oh my gosh, I'm like ducking under my mug right now ;) I didn't have any caffeine today and I'm like DYING so I just brewed myself a mug ;) I had no idea I was so addicted to caffeine!!! ugh!! I think I need to do a little detox too, haha (although I just put soymilk in mine, so the dairy isn't an issue!)

  3. Hope your detox goes well. I don't drink coffee, and I do have black tea sometimes, but I can go days or weeks at a time without any, so it would not phase me.

  5. I gave up coffee in January but certainly made up for it in Feb when I was in Brighton. I know what you mean though, every so often I just start to feel a bit yuk after eating too much processed stuff and drinking to much caffeine, that's why I like to do a mini detox every now and again. Hope it goes well!
