Sunbites + Day 17

Hey readers, I hope your week is going well?
Mine has been busy as always, my 17th Bikram session is after work! I have also been busy with some exciting stuff for Salad and Sequins...............
I was asked before Christmas by the lovely peeps over at Sunbites to get involved with some January fitness goals and a Q&A (Thursday 3-5pm) on there Facebook Page.
As many of there fans probably don't know me I am doing a post on here for them to get the low down of me and my blog plus some fitness tips which might be great for all of you?!
So here goes:

Hello Sunbites fans!
My name is Tamzin and I write this blog Salad and Sequins. I use this space to blog about healthy eating and fitness with a little bit of sparkle and cake! It's all about balance right? I am also a qualified Personal Trainer so living a healthy lifestyle is top of the list for me : )

Being a personal trainer means I am one of those crazy people that loves to exercise and loves to make people exercise too. Which is what I would like to share with you today, obviously after the Christmas excesses (come on we all ate way to much me included!) January is always the month when people like to start a new fitness regime of some kind and usually a new diet. Well we are 2 weeks in to the new year are you still feeling enthusiastic? If you are then good for you if your not then you need to ask yourself why? Have you started a new fitness plan that you don't actually like or is too hard? If your head is fighting with you then hopefully these tips will help:

1. Always find an exercise you enjoy that might be walking, dancing, swimming, yoga or anything that gets you sweaty. Sweat will mean you are burning calories so keep it up!
2. Start to workout with a friend, if you have somebody to meet you are more likely to get to that gym session or go for that run!
3. Set yourself a goal this could be a summer holiday, wedding, a certain size dress. You need to be realistic and give yourself enough time to really give it your best to complete the goal then once you've got there set another one if you always have a fitness goal you will always need to exercise!

I will be setting myself fitness and diet goals every month on Salad and Sequins so if you want any ideas then please come back and visit you could even join in and do the goals too! My January fitness goal is a 30 day Bikram yoga challenge and I'm over half way home already so I'm feeling pretty chuffed with that : )

I would like to say a big thank you to sunbites for inviting me to do this post and I am looking forward to getting to know some of you more with a Q&A session on Thursday between 3 and 5pm on their Facebook page. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like some diet and fitness tips to start your new year.
