Weight Room Fear

Ello Ello how's it going? I can't believe its the 1st of February tomorrow, where did January go?!
I've had a fab Sunday off. I was supposed to go out for a friends birthday last night but with my back not 100% I didn't wanna risk and drunken injuries so I stayed in. This did mean an early visit to gym for me, yay!

I woke up with enough time to hoover a smoothie up. Chocolate soya protein and banana smoothie with the gums to make it thick and creamy yum! Then it was off to the gym and I had a great workout.

10 mins - cross trainer - set on random - Level 10
40 mins - weights - lunges - crunches
30 mins - treadmill - intervals - power walking 6.5mph - jogging 7.5/8mph
15 mins - stepper - Level 7 to 10 - intervals

I always get weight room fear when going to the gym, all the big muscle men huffing and puffing but to day I faced the weight room fear and I felt great after, back has been a little sore today but I think that's because I came home and sat about for the rest of the day well kinda...........

I popped into Lidl on the way home to get some much needed veg, so by the time I got home I was hungry. I satisfied my grumbling tum with some cornflakes with vanilla rice milk and raisins. I love this combo!

I then got to work on making some almond butter. Oh how I love the vita mix, I have to buy one for myself before moving form Maggies I can never live without one now I have had this fab appliance in my life! My almond butter came out perfectly, I roasted a tray of almonds sprinkled with a little salt, then once they were brown left them to cool a while. Put the whole lot in the vita mix + 2 tbsp of walnut oil and whizzed. Man this is good almond butter I will enjoy every drop!

I had a steaming hot bubble bath and read my book for a while and by the time I was dressed it was lunch time so I used up the bean burger leftovers form the other night but this time added an egg and a generous helping of curry powder. I also had some broccoli on the side as well as....

Humous! Yep I'm getting back on the pulse trail and I'm loving it, this was a really tasty lunch.

I cut up a homemade protein bar, dates, pumpkin seeds and topped with yogurt for pud

Later I couldn't resist trying some of my almond butter on the last of my gluten free bread.
This didn't disappoint, unbelievably good!

Then a little later I again had a little snack, its the being at home curse. Whenever I'm at home I just kinda eat all day, some of you have mentioned you do the same its weird cause when I'm at work I never eat this much!

More food! Dinner time, I had a big bowl of Lentil and Butternut Squash soup with beets and parsnip chips on the side, yum.

Yes I still had room for pudding! I kept it light by whizzing up some frozen raspberries, natural yogurt and a little milk

So good! This has got to be a new favorite for sure

1. I used to work in my local YMCA roller skating with kids. I would roller skate at least 2-3 hours a day and loved it. I have a pair of roller skates that have flashing wheels and diamonds on them! I love them and need to start skating again, I miss skating so much but definitely don't miss the kids!

2. My natural hair colour is mousy brown. I have been dying my hair since I was 11. I now wish I could get my natural colour so am only using semi permanent dyes, maybe one day!

3. I have been single for 8 yrs! Ok there was a 3 month blip over 2 yrs ago but it doesn't really count. I am hoping my prince is out there and just taking a REALLY long time cutting through the brambles.

4. I lived in Barcelona for 1 + 1/2 yrs. It was the scariest thing I have ever done and the most exciting. I loved it and had the best time, but I got a little too friendly with the booze and missed my sister so came home.

5. My dream job is to be a personal trainer. I love to exercise, all my friends think I'm crazy! It would be a dream come true to work with people that just need that extra push to get fit and then discover how much fun it is to work out! I see my dream coming true...............

6. I am obsessed with decorating my hair. I love putting it up and using flowers, birds, diamonds and all number of glittery things to pimp my hair do. People always ask me if someone has done my hair or ask how long it takes, they are always shocked when I reply I put it up myself and it took about 5 minutes!

7. The one place I long to go is America! I have wanted to go for like ever, my dream is to go to San Francisco and New York. I would like to travel all over but these 2 first. Or maybe meet an American prince that wants to marry me and take me to his American abode, so all you lovely bloggers state side any hot brothers send them my way! hehehehehe

I wish I was there : (

Hello all how's ya weekend going? Mine is good. I've had a busy day at work so it went quick plus because I sold 6 contracts I got to go home early, yay! Right on to the days eats.......

I started my day with a big bowl of banana protein quinoa flakes this was UBER filling but as always it was a good thing as I didn't get lunch till 2.30pm!
This delicious bowl contained 1/4 cup quinoa flakes, 1/4 soya bran, 1/4 cup low lacto milk, 1 scoop of rice protein, small banana, raisins, maca, almond essence and water. Topped with tahini. Uber tasty and uber filling great start to the day

I CRACKED!!!!!!! Ok its been a whole week but yes I had a coffee, but it was decaff so am I forgiven?! I had my coffee with rice milk and I savored every sip. Maybe I'll have a coffee now and again but try not to have more than one a week which is pretty good I think!

When I finally got lunch at 2.30pm it was worth the wait. I had quinoa with avocado, raw carrots and mangetout, olives stuffed with almonds and an egg. I had a tsp of walnut oil as a dressing then I had.........

a scrummy pot of pineapple chunks topped with natural yogurt I really enjoyed this. I was also drinking fennel tea through out my work day its definitely a favorite.

As I got to leave work early I took advantage of this and went to Lidl after work (German supermarket super cheap but great food!) I wanted to get an exercise ball and they sell them there for £4.99! I got my ball and also some veg to make soup then walked the rest of the way home.

I made a really REALLY good batch of soup Lentil and Butternut Squash. Wow this was good
really thick just the way I like it. I had some GF toast with soya marg to dip, yum

Lentil and Butternut Squash Soup

stock cube
2 cloves garlic
3 slices fresh chili
bunch of coriander
1 small butternut squash
1 cup split red lentils
olive oil
seasoning, turmeric, ginger

Slice garlic and put in saucepan with chili and olive oil, add coriander and saute. Add squash
and stir. Pour boiling water to cover, add stock cube, seasoning, turmeric, ginger, lentils and stir. Bring to the boil
then simmer till all ingredients are soft, whizz up and enjoy with something for dipping!

I made a mint chocolate protein mouse for afters and topped with coconut,
so gooooooooood! I love the mint and chocolate combination. I love mint chocolate any which way!

Well I named this post 'I wish I was there' and the meaning of this is my older sister Jes went to Ireland today to stay with my little sister Leah and my mama. I'm so jealous I wish wish WISH I was there I miss them so much and its always a hoot when we're together, the laughter is non stop. I'm hoping I can maybe go at the end of April but I need to get a passport first remember when I lost mine in Barcelona! Fingers crossed I'll get things sorted I need my family fix!

I have a film to watch called The Reader so I'm calling it a night x

The Best Breakfast Smoothie Soup + Thursday Fun

Hey everyone!!!!!! Sorry for my disappearing act yesterday but I didn't have time to post before going out for our very late Christmas meal more on that later first lets get to today......

My breakfast is the exact same as I had yesterday, I couldn't resist another bowl of the best smoothie EVER! Oh my god sooooooooo good! Debs would be proud! I used my new chocolate protein powder and WOW I'm in love

In the mix:

1 scoop soya protein powder, 1/3 cup low lacto milk, tbsp soya bran, tsp maca+cocoa, xanthan+guar gum,
cup water, 4 ice cubes, topped with walnuts

This bad boy got me ready for my work day along with a cup of fresh ginger T. After breakfast I got my stuff together and walked to work.........

Around 10.30am I felt a little peckish so had a scrummy boiled egg, this was the perfect snack to get me through to lunch.............

Lunch was yumMY! Great salad of basmati brown rice, raw carrots, soya beans 2 almond stuffed olives, coriander leaves and a tsp of walnut oil delish

For a sweet I had 1 of my homemade protein bars topped with some natural yogurt, I've been getting along with the milk and greek yogurt so I've been trying natural yogurt and its been ok so far which is great I love natural yogurt.

I had a date with the gym after work so had a few nuts and an apple (not pictured!) to keep me going I had a quick session as I had to walk home and in the dark I don't like to walk home to late because its kinda scary. I did 25 minutes on the cross trainer and 15 minutes on the arm bike
my back is still iffy so I'm still taking it easy but lovin being back to exercising a bit more : )

when I got home I had to make dinner and was quite hungry so had a small slice of my tasty GF bread with soya marg and marmite. Yes you either love it or hate it and I love it! How about you?

I made a new recipe for my din dins today. Soya and adzuki bean burgers, these were ok but not fantastic they need some work but I enjoyed the change

Pudding was ground rice carob and coconut pud topped with greek yogurt perfect end to my day
I nearly cracked and had a coffee today but I controlled myself I'm doing well with the diet and exercise so far : )

See Thursday started with my super tasty smoothie, I'm thinking 3 days in a row might actually happen it really is worth it! After my breakfast I went to the gym early before I started work. I walked there and did:

25 minutes cross trainer, outer hip abductions 3 sets of 8, inner hip abductions 3 sets, 10 minutes stair master, squats 3 sets, lunges 3 sets and the plank for 1 minute. This was perfect not to hard on the body but got me a good sweat on!

When I got to work I had a protein bar homemade! As well as some nettle tea, I'm officially addicted to it I drink it all day!

Later I had an apple more T and water

Lunch was the same as Wednesday and just as good

Pud was a third of this pot of natural yogurt yummy.
After work I popped round to see my friend Wayne because it was his birthday yesterday and I had a gift for my lovely friend which he loved thank god! We chatted for a while over some ginger T then I hurried home to get ready for my staff Christmas meal ( so late!)

I was a starvin marvin when I got home so had some beets and a slice of GF toast with choco almond butter which definitely hit the spot, right it was definitely time to get ready by now!

Pearls, diamonds and hair piece = ready to go out! We went to a fab bar called Porters which serves the most delicious foods and they definitely didn't disappoint

The 3 boys had steak which served on a hot rock and you cook it to your liking how cool is that!?

Leanne had lamb cutlets in a red wine and rosemary sauce

I had slow roasted shoulder of lamb with chips and veg OH MY GOD this was probably some of the best lamb I've EVER had, it just fell apart. There was so much but yes I ate it all, it would have been rude not to!

Its late and I have work in the morning so this is good night x x

I'm not surprised.......

Well I'm glad to hear you all find ways to get your 5 a day or more well done us! Colourful foods are so tasty and nutritious and always taste better than anything processed don't ya think?!

Well I had an early start today, I needed to be ready for my 8am driving lesson, which might I add went really well : ) I started my day with some banana protein quinoa flakes topped with tahini and a tsp of homemade choco almond butter twas a tasty delight for sure and gave me the kick I needed to be ready to get on the road! I drove for 1hr and then started work.

For some reason I was getting hungry around 10.30ish which is weird I never feel hungry usually after my big breakfast but today I was so I drank I big glass of water and was still hungry so gave in and had a rice cake sarni filled with vegan cream cheese it filled the gap till lunch.

I had lunch at 1, my lunch today was quinoa, 1/2 salmon steak, gated carrot and mangetout drizzled with walnut oil

What a yummy salad it was so good and so was the apple I had for pud. I didn't get my walk to work to day and by about 2pm I had a look at my pedometer and had only done just over 2000 steps!!!!!! I am not surprised really, the shop I work in is so small and I don't really get to walk about at all other than my lunch break. I decided to walk the long way home today to clock up some steps but I only walked a disappointing 7655 : ( The book said to aim for 7000 so I did more than that but I'm disappointed to be honest, then again I did see my back man last night so an easier day was probably sensible.

NEW PRODUCTS ALERT! I invested in a new protein powder today because I wanted to make some protein bars and figured chocolate was a good choice and I also tried.......

.........some new bread. Its a gluten free loaf made with maize, chestnuts and linseed's. Its quite dense but pretty tasty so I'm glad I bought some to try but at the price its definitely a treat! After I walked home I had a small slice toasted with a little pure soya margarine spread on top delish

For my din dins I had 2 slices of my new bread with tahini, olives stuffed with almonds and a bowl of raw soup, I wish I could say this was a hit but unfortunately it was not I put way to much garlic in and had to say good bye to the soup it was wrong!

After loosing the soup down the sink I made a bowl of steamed veg drizzled with toasted sesame seed oil a great replacement.

I then made some buckwheat protein bars with my new soya protein, hemp protein and bananas. I obviously had to try the bars once cooked so I topped with greek yogurt and dove in.
I am quite pleased with the result but I think they would be better with some nut butter/tahini or agave but as I can only have natural sugar from whole or dried fruit I am banned from the agave! I made 12 bars which will be handy for a grabby snack over the next week.

I plan an early morning gym session tomorrow, I need to get my steps in tomorrow plus we have our works post Christmas do tomorrow so I wanna feel good and the gym always makes me feel good. I also have a haircut booked for after work nothing drastic just a trim but its way over due, the ends of my hair are screaming to be cut!

I must pack my bag ready for tomorrow so I shall say nightie night x x

Exercise makes me smile : )

Hello lovelies how are we today I'm A O K!!!!!!!
Wow its been a while since I've felt this good, I think its down to the exercise I did today and
all the fab nutritious food I've eaten. Right I shall start with breakfast, this was kinda weird
and its safe to say I wont be having it again! I made a warm smoothie in today's I added avocado and no chocolate it just didn't work for me but I put some raisins and dessicated (no sugar!) coconut on the top and ate most of it. It was uber filling and got me set for the gym.

I'm still taking it slow because hurting my back again is not an option! I walked to the gym then
started with 20 minutes walking on the treadmill:

I kept the incline at 1.0 for the whole 20mins-
1-2 - 5.5mph
2-5 - 6mph
5-6 - 6.1mph
6-7 - 6.2mph
7-8 - 6.3mph
8-9 - 6.4 mph
9-10 - 6.5mph

I did this twice through without any pain! I then did 20 minutes on the cross trainer. I set it on random level 10 and got a great workout from this. Tummy was next, I did 30 crunches middle and both sides then stretched and went to work feeling fab!

After the gym I ate my boiled egg for a protein kick, boiled to perfection yum!

By 12.30 my tummy was getting peckish so I quietened it down with a green monster this kept my hunger at bay til I got my lunch and 2.15pm

I popped out at lunch and picked up a copy of one of my fav mags and got to work on my lunch.......

I had a snack pack, red pepper sticks and mangetout, rice cakes with vegan cream cheese and an apple, delish. I finished work at 3.30pm today because I had to get home before going to see the back man. Boy oh boy does it KILL when he massages me but its all for the good of my poor back so I take the pain! He says its getting a lot better so fingers crossed it wont be long and I'll be back to my old self.

I was famished by the time I got home and new I needed a filling meal. Tomato and garlic beef mince with parsnip and sweet potato mash n a side of steamed veg which was indeed a filling meal!

Doc says more red meat i.e lamb/venison would be good at least once a week so I need to think of some recipes me thinks.........

Last but not least PUDDING! I had an old favorite tonight, ground rice with carob and dates, topped with Greek yogurt! Yep I've been doing ok with the low lactose milk so I decided to try some Greek yogurt because we got given a giant pot at the show on Sunday and its been fine
I'm real happy about this as I used to love plain yogurt : )

Day 2 of my 3 Months Thin challenge and all's good, I haven't eaten any sugar, no coffee has passed my lips and I have eaten pretty damn well don't ya think?! Plus my 10,000 step challenge has been smashed again I managed 13664!!!!!! I think tomorrow will be less because I have a driving lesson before work so wont get the walk in but I shall pop out on lunch I think so get the steps in, anyways I'm feeling sleepy and my fav trashy TV programme is on soon so I shall say farewell.
