A Day To Myself

Hey everybody how are we today?
I feel a lot better having had the day to myself, I didn't do my yoga but got quite a few things done, I think my body needed a rest after yesterday and should feel fab for tomorrows workout!

I went to bed quite late last night but for once got a good nights sleep, which was needed!
I got up and made a delightful breakfast:

Quinoa porridge with these add ins: frozen cherries, sesame seeds, heaped tsp sweet mincemeat, topped with soy yogurt and seeds

This was a goooooooood breakfast, pink porridge yum : )

I spent the morning dying my hair which was a total mission as the shower head doesn't come off so I had to try and get the dye off whilst having a shower! Yeah it was wild but the hair is looking well covered. I also got lots of my washing done so quite productive!

For lunch I ate some quorn mince in a tom and roasted veggie sauce with lots of steamed veggies

Twas delicious : )

I also ate some ryvita with WW strawberry jam.

I got this from a giveaway I won and its real nice, thank you Kate : )

I fed my Lost addiction for a while in the afternoon and the cat got comfy!

I felt bad waking up this cutie but I had to go to Asda so she had to move, bless so cute!
I got lots of veggies, apples, kiwis and some other bits then made my way home.

For dinner I made a delicious soup, its been ages since I have shared a soup recipe so enjoy:

Sweet potato, Swede and Spinach Soup

1 onion
2 garlic cloves
1 tbsp stock
1 small swede
1 small sweet potato
3 handfuls of spinach
herbs and salt to season

Lightly fry the onion and garlic in a little olive oil until softened.
Chop the swede and sweet potato and add into pan with stock.
Add about 1+1/2 pints of boiling water.
Add mixed herbs and a pinch of salt.
Bring to the boil and then simmer for about 30/40 minutes
Whiz it up and enjoy!

I ate mine with some raw carrots and peppers and 2 boiled eggs.

I also had an apple and a kiwi with yogurt, cinnamon and 4 pecans chopped.

I got the pecans in my graze box.

I also had 3 star cookies 1 chocolate 2 vanilla : )

I'm glad I had today to just chill with my own thoughts and get some stuff done.
If I'm honest I'm having some troubles at the mo, I'm not going to go into it, I don't feel ready to broadcast just yet. I'm sure I'll get through it one way or another but I suffer from stress quite badly so I'm hoping it doesn't get too on top of me..........

Anyway enough of the glumness I need to put more washing in the dryer. I hope you've all had a good day, just think its only 10 days till Christmas! Crazy how fast this year has gone, I'm definitely looking forward to starting a new one!

Question:

Do you suffer from stress, how do you deal with it?

I get lots of bad symptoms but I'm keeping my fingers crossed they will stay at bay!

  1. Sometimes just being on your own is the best thing for stress. Friends mean well but they don't alway help. Doing stuff helps. During one particular stressful time I started tidying up the kitchen one morning and by the end of the day was re-painting it!

  2. Oh darn. I'm sorry that you're having stress. Your food sure looks good though.

It really depends on what the stress is- as to how I deal with it. But personally, i never ever have a situation that isn't helped by a kitty on my lap :-)

    Hugs to you!

  3. Running helps me get some stress out, but then sometimes I like to have timne to sort things out at my own pace. I also like to de-clutter my hopme- get rid of all the things I dont use or need, and have a massive tidy. Hpe things get better for you :)

  5. Tamzin, I hope you're ok!!! I'm worried about you now.

I get stressed SO easily. Stress and anxiety are my biggest problems I think. But time to myself to process and think things through helps. I also write things down. For example, I write down what I'm stressed or anxious about and then I write counter-arguments to each point as to why they're not as stressful as I think. Not sure if that makes sense!

Hope you're ok, lovely lady xxxx

  6. Hope your ok petal, stress is really awful. I used to get stressed really badly - I bet a nice day to yourself was really helpful. It usually depends on the source of the stress but either distracting myself or facing the problem full on and dealing with it helps me. If its something I can not change I usually have a good think about it and try and rationalise it in my head if that makes sense!
Hope your ok though, hugs xxx

  8. Stress, for me, is solved by spending time with my mum drinking green tea, and baking cookies, or taking the dog for a walk. Or visiting my dad. Or buying fresh hot doughnuts from my local market. Yes, food and family is the way to being stress free for sure!

  9. I love spending the day with myself with nothing much to do, it's so relaxing. I do hope you are okay though and that things aren't too stressful for you at the moment.

  10. I get stressed easily too. The best way to get rid of it I find it to talk it out with my boyfriend. I love the look of that soup, nice and warming!
